I am based in India and have purchased my MacBook Air in UAE in 2016.. I have updated my OS to the latest version now and trying to sign in to FaceTime. I get the message to logon to appleid site as they can't see any reachable addresses.
I have updated my Mobile number and an active alternate email ID but still cannot sign in.
Please advise on the way forward,

yes I am aware- but the new softwares updates across Apple devices has enabled FaceTime. I can now use FaceTime on my iPad that I had purchased from Dubai.
For my MacBook, the FaceTime icon showed up only after the iOS update which means it should be allowed to use. There’s just some error which we aren’t able to rectify....

Thanks for the response. Do you see the icon on the dock of your MacBook when the app is launched on your iPad? You may be seeing the Handoff feature.
Use Handoff to continue a task on your other devices

Thanks for your post! We understand you are unable to enable FaceTime on your MacBook Air. FaceTime is not available on devices purchased in the UAE.

My iPad and MacBook both have different iCloud accounts, so they aren’t linked.. the FaceTime icon is there in the dock irrespective of the iPad being On or not..
