Can't purchase a song or album or sample it

I upgraded to Catalina and now I can't search for a song and buy it. I find the albums but only have the option of subscribing to Apple Music.

Can't buy music in the Catalina Music Store...? I just spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to buy (not rent) an album in the Catalina Music Store. Nowhere could I find the price of the album or tracks, just a persistent offer to try Apple Music. There was no 'Buy' button anywhere. Finally, I just went to a Windows PC and bought the album in the old iTunes Music Store. This is really annoying. I need actual tracks because I'm in a rural area, and can't depend on a cell signal to listen to a streaming service. I'm glad I have the Windows option, but it's stupid that I can't buy music on Apple's own hardware.

Can't buy songs off iTunes anymore? I am trying to buy a single song without joining Apple Music. Is this possible? OS = Catalina I click on the iTunes tab. Enter a song into the search bar top left. Select the song to play a sample, but instead of hearing any music, up pops the advert for me to sign up to Apple Music. When I click Not Now, the music sample does not play, and nor do I get a Buy Now button. Please help me buy single songs, without having to sign up to Apple Music (even for the free 3 month trial).

Can you post a screen shot of what you see.

I remember when Music was announced, there was a button that seemed to indicate you could only subscribe to Apple Music, but it was just a button to continue using the Music App. Somewhat confusing.

I understand it's confusing, but Apple has not changed the ability to sample or purchase music the same way you always have.

Please read Add and download music from Apple Music or buy music from the iTunes Store. It illustrates exactly what to do.
