Preinstalled Apps on iPads

Do the the new iPads have Word, PowerPoint, Excel installed when you buy them?

No, those are Microsoft Apps, not Apple’s. Those MS Office apps are free downloads from the App Store, but with an iPad Pro you’ll need a paid subscription with Microsoft for Office 365.


A new iPad will have Apple’s own Pages, Numbers, Keynote apps installed.

I have never heard that MacBook's come with Microsoft software preinstalled, so that's news to me. But I can tell you no iOS based device (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch) comes with any Microsoft apps installed.


Perhaps whoever set up your MacBook loaded Microsoft tools on your iPad for you?
