What is "SandBoxedServiceRunner" and how do I delete it?

My MacBookAir has been running slow of late, telling me it's filling up, so I have been systematically going through and trashing unneeded files, or reducing the size of photographs. The past few days, I periodically get a message about non-responsive applications and they are always paired with the above-named "SandBoxedServiceRunner." It's been happening a LOT today. What the heck is this thing and how do I get rid of it

I recently upgraded to MacOSCatalina... could that have something to do with it?

P.S. Yes, I have already tried shutting down my computer and I am still getting the "non-responsive applications" warning.

Please determine if the same problems occur in "Safe Mode": Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac.

I am inclined to believe if you are seeing a runaway sandboxedServiceRunner process, it's a symptom of that overall system performance degradation, and isn't causing a problem in itself. After restarting your Mac in Safe Mode restart it normally and determine if it persists.

Back up your Mac, which just goes without saying. To learn how to use Time Machine please read Back up your files with Time Machine on Mac.
