2017 15" macbook pro screen replacement

I had to pay for a new screen that failed from the now infamous "Flexgate" problem when the laptop was just out of warranty. Now two years later the replacement screen is failing again with the same issue. When you open the laptop the screen is ok but as you open it up fully there is a black horizontal line every 8 pixels. So I have hundreds of horizontal black lines when the laptop is opened but the rest of the screen acts normal. I have hooked it up to a tv via a HDMI cable and the picture is fine.

I am aware that there is a class action lawsuit to try to make Apple own up to the fact that the cables connecting the screen on this years model were too short. Ifixit have shown that the 2018 model has a cable 2mm longer to stop the rubbing of the cable on the video board.

Does anyone know if Apple is ready to admit this is the same issue that they have initiated a recall program on the 13" models
