Apple Music Playlists Showing Up on MacBook but Not iPhone...

Hello Apple Community. I recently received a MacBook Air for college. Prior to this, I had been sharing an Apple ID account with both of my parents. Since I will be in college soon, my parents figured it would be an appropriate time to create my own Apple ID account to make things easier and less stressful. However, we have the Family Plan subscription on Apple Music and I did not want to lose all of the playlists I had created prior to this. We discovered the Family Sharing feature that Apple offers that allows for families to share different apps amongst several devices. The Family Sharing feature allows for Apple Music to be shared amongst several devices, so we decided to try this out. Now, when I open Apple Music on my MacBook, I am able to see all of the playlists that I had previously created on my iPhone. However, when I open Apple Music on my iPhone, it shows the name of the playlist, but when I open the playlist it says, "there's no music in this playlist" and gives me the option to add music to the playlist. I am having a hard time understanding why my playlists transferred over to my MacBook while simultaneously deleting them from my iPhone. The majority of the time, I use my iPhone to listen to Apple Music. If anyone has any idea what may be happening to cause this or something I can do to fix this problem, please let me know! Thank you.

Hi taylorwhalen,

Congratulations on your new MacBook Air! Based on what you stated, it seems you are experiencing issues with playing your music on your iPhone, and getting the error: "there's no music in this playlist", and we'd like to help.

"If you subscribe to Apple Music, you can turn on Sync Library to access your music library and music that you've downloaded from Apple Music on all of your devices."

With that being said, go to: Settings > Music. Then turn off “Show Apple Music”. Restart your iPhone, then turn them back on.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If that didn't help, we’d like to have you sign out of the iTunes Store, restart the device, and sign back in. This will turn off your iCloud Music Library and remove all of your downloaded content that you have saved for offline use, but once you are signed back in, you can re-download the content again for offline use.

If that is okay with you, please go to Settings > iTunes and App Stores, tap your email address and choose sign out. Once done, please restart the device and sign back in. After signing back in, please go to Settings > Music and turn on Show Apple Music and test for the issue again to see if it still exists.

Cheers.
