Maps app in Mojave (v10.14.6) has stopped displaying graphics

This recently occurred a few days ago. The app opens but doesn't display any of the 3 basic graphic information under maps, transit or the satellite tab.

Recently updated OS to 10.14.6 (security and Safari updates). I initially noticed the mapping issue inside my Apple Photo app when I couldn't get any photos to display the location graphic. Got in touch with Apple tech support, tried a number of workarounds with them, they even had me reinstall Mojave. But a couple of hours later, the Maps app still doesn't work. Tech support basically didn't have a solution other than to suggest updating my OS to Catalina, which I'm not ready to do. I have a couple of programs that I rely on that won't play well with the new OS.

Any suggestions for getting the map app back to functioning again?

Update....I apparently figured it out. I read a comment/suggestion from a posting over a year ago that had a similar issue. They went into their Network settings via System Preferences and updated some of those items.

What I did, and I don't know if this really did the trick, but Maps is now displaying the graphics correctly. I went into System Preferences/Network:

1) Turned off and on my wifi connection.

2) Went into "Advanced settings" (bottom right radio button) and cleaned out a lot of "wifi preferred networks" (auto-join) that I've logged into with my iPhone and iPad over a period of time. Apparently my iMac collects these locations thru the iCloud connection associated with my mobile devices.

3) After I ok'd the changes....it took about 20 min for the Map application to start displaying maps/graphics in all the other programs that utilize the Maps app (Photo app location info in particular).

Everything's back to working again... hopeful this solved the issue!
