family purchase share

I am the organizer on the family purchase share and I don't understand why the itunes gift card that I added to my account is not being used instead of my credit card. How can I fix this? TIA

The gift card should be used ahead of store credit, but only for your own purchases. Any purchases made by other members of the family share should go first to any store credit they may have, then your registered payment method. See Family purchases and payments - Apple Support.
