Logitech C930e USB Webcam and Catalina
Webcam is recognized, and useful in Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, Photo Booth on my 2018 MacBook Air with Catalina. Then, after 1-3 minutes, it fails, and is lost. however, the camera light still stays on, but is not working. Camera works no problem on my 2010 iMAC with High Sierra.
Have this plugged in via the Thunderbolt Dongle with HDMI and USB and Power. Tried it in both Thunderbolt ports, removed the HDMI. No resolve.
contacted Apple support - no support. Should be called Apple "no support." Told me to contact Logitech. Driver issue. But this is plug and play, and driver is incorporated into Catalina. I had already Updated whatever Logitech had for Catalina.
Funny thing is, this camera was working, then I tried to add an external USB microphone with a USB dongle hanging off of the one USB port (had both the camera and microphone here). But the microphone would never allow the camera to work. Total conflict. Now - since that point, I've had the issue described above. Very frustrating. Frustrating enough, thinking about asking work to give me a PC.
Or, do I really need to buy a new camera? This is very frustrating, and coupled with the complete lack of trying by Apple support.
