Logitech C930e USB Webcam and Catalina

Webcam is recognized, and useful in Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, Photo Booth on my 2018 MacBook Air with Catalina. Then, after 1-3 minutes, it fails, and is lost. however, the camera light still stays on, but is not working. Camera works no problem on my 2010 iMAC with High Sierra.

Have this plugged in via the Thunderbolt Dongle with HDMI and USB and Power. Tried it in both Thunderbolt ports, removed the HDMI. No resolve.

contacted Apple support - no support. Should be called Apple "no support." Told me to contact Logitech. Driver issue. But this is plug and play, and driver is incorporated into Catalina. I had already Updated whatever Logitech had for Catalina.

Funny thing is, this camera was working, then I tried to add an external USB microphone with a USB dongle hanging off of the one USB port (had both the camera and microphone here). But the microphone would never allow the camera to work. Total conflict. Now - since that point, I've had the issue described above. Very frustrating. Frustrating enough, thinking about asking work to give me a PC.

Or, do I really need to buy a new camera? This is very frustrating, and coupled with the complete lack of trying by Apple support.

Thanks. Had my IT dept working on it all morning. Went through a SMC reset, no help. I've changed the microphone to the external Cemtek microphone I bought. Connected it into the other thunderbolt port. Its up as long as it has been since it started crashing. Somehow it seems that it is the C930 microphone and C930 video at the same time causing the crash. Might be putting the camera and audio mic input onto two different USB inputs that has helped. We'll see. Fingers crossed.

The Logitech C920 camera is known to work with everything that you mentioned, and based on other posts, also when using Zoom on Catalina. The C922 camera doesn't play nice with Zoom, and that may be the case with your C930e. It may distill into Zoom lacking certain camera support. Have you updated to Catalina 10.15.6, and using the last available update on the Zoom site?
