Activationcode after reset

I deleted my Iphone X, because I'm giving it to a familymember. I logged out of iCloud before I did. But after restarting it again it has an activation code, but not the code I used to have. So how do we find out what the code is? I've tried like 123456, 000000, 111111 etc, which locks me out in 15 min. Apple suggestion is to logg on to my iCloud account, but without the activation code I can't get in there. So could anyone help me?
