Has anyone run into this? Mac Book Pro, circa 2012, goes from working perfectly to having a grey screen that contains a folder with a question mark in it? Did it die on me? If yes, can I retrieve content off of it?
I'm sorry but if the disk cannot be used without erasing it first, then you will lose your photos and the iPhoto application. This sort of situation may happen to anyone which is why backups are very important. I wish I had better news.
I followed those instruction. Disk Utility said all was well. I went to re-install IOS and when I get to the page to select a disk there is no disk listed to select. It says if this happens, I should erase the disk but I have things (photos in an old iPhoto application) that aren’t backed up. Any further suggestions?
