Garage Band recording

I'm trying to load a backing track that I bought thru iTunes but when I try to load it into Garage Band it's not in the playlist. The title of the song is listed but there is no file there to download. I used to be able to do recordings this way but I suspect the latest update may have changed the way GB works. Help!

Is the track downloaded to your computer in iTunes? You should be able to right-click and use Show in Finder to see the downloaded file which you could then use in GarageBand. You won't be able to use anything that is in the cloud or comes via an Apple Music subscription.
