Icloud stating out of storage

My iphone backup of photos to icloud is stating I am out of storage however when looking in the settings on the phone I have only used 1.6GB, this is the same shown on the icloud website. How can I sort this out to be correct as it just wants me to buy more. Thanks

Why does my iPhone backup require 25GB of space? I’ve been paying for 50GB of space in the cloud. My iCloud reflects that photos take up 21GB. My iPad backup requires 5GB. For some reason, my iPhone backup requires 26GB. I think that includes a redundant 21GB for photos. Is there any way to fix this issue? I don’t want to delete the 21GB in photos currently represented in the iCloud but I want to be able to backup my iPhone.

iCloud is empty, but phone tells me I need to upgrade to larger size to back up. Why? When I log in to my iCloud through the browser, it shows empty, yet backup on my phone refuses saying there is not enough space, and that I have to upgrade to larger size. I only have a few small photos, and in any case, the phone is set not to back up photos. How do I clear this?

My device storage is only used 26gb of the 64. It specifically states iCloud in the photos app on the phone and that it cannot back up more items.

Thank you for this. It’s not a backup of the whole iPhone I’m doing. It is only photos that I am trying to put on iCloud.

If you cannot backup to iCloud - If you can't back up to iCloud or restore from iCloud backup failed - Apple Support.
