Having Issue with Kernel Panic

Hi Everyone!

So I have read around on different threads but haven't been able to figure out anything to help. I have been having pretty consistent kernel panics and have erased and reinstalled OS, replaced battery, but still have it on occasion. It has gotten better, but it does still happen. I am also missing a portion of my HD that I partitioned for bootcamp. There is 100GB that does not show up at all even after the restore. I have gone through other threads to see how to get it back, but it seems a little over my head based off of other people's walkthroughs for their particular situations. The laptop also gets very hot at the back left side of laptop just running chrome with memory clean in the background, so pretty minimal. I am not sure if its an issue with overheating or not.

Really hoping to get this figured out and appreciate any and all help.

Thanks again for any help!

There is a zip file download here:

it unzips to a 58.5 MB .app. But that is not signed, and want to go in a system directory, so you would need to turn off System Integrity Protection. Once it has been run once, you may be able to re-enable System Integrity protection.

This is third-party software hobbyist available with warranty or support. It could harm you or your computer, so use only if you fully understand what you are doing.

yours is GPU panic.

extensions are graphics extensions.

BSD process is WindowServer.

No third-party kernel extensions to muddy the waters.

so yeah that is a GPU problem.

• You may want to consider adding Gfx card status.

• You may want to consider disabling the Discrete graphics processor and running only the Integrated graphics, but those solutions mean you lose the ability to Sleep the processor, as it re-enables the Discrete GPU when it wakes up and never comes back to you. (crashes on wake-from-sleep)

Thepoidevin hack merely keeps the Discrete graphics chip on "warm" standby" instead of Apple default of very cold standby. Installing gfx card status mostly reports on which GPU is in use, and gives you a little bit of ability to do some selection. Yes it will work with the poidevin hack.

If your computer crashes on waking from sleep, you may need to disable the Discrete graphics completely. You would lose the ability to run an external displays, and it would use the Integrated grahics at all times. There is no know fix for crashing on wake-from sleep, even with this hack installed, so you would have to NOT allow your computer to sleep, EVER.

There are several I listed, and they are roughly equivalent, but the most recent one by DosDude is the easiest to implement because you have the least amount of obscure typing and don't have to boot linux.
