I downloaded and synced my onedrive account to my Mac but some large files (as identified by Mac itself), upon checking Mac storage, have been downloaded to my system. I was wondering if there is some way to delete them on my Mac without it being deleted from my onedrive? Thanks.

Yes. Right click on the file that you want to keep only on the OneDrive server and choose "Free Up Space". This should remove the file (except the title) from your MacBook Pro and keep it on OneDrive.

Yes if you remove that file on your MacBook Pro then it will be removed from OneDrive. What you can do is activate FILES ON DEMAND on OneDrive Preferences. This will keep the files that you use on your drive and keep the rest of your files on the OneDrive server.

Thank you for this. I’ve tried this already but the large files are still on my mac, and when i tried deleting one, it is also deleted on my onedrive.
Is there some way to prevent this from happening?
I’ve done this as well but the large documents still keep showing up at the macintosh hd storage. It still gets deleted from my onedrive whenever i delete it from the mac.
Furthermore this shows when i removed my tried it again.
Are the large files from my onedrive account being downloaded to my mac on its own?
