Serial number showing as invalid.

i have just checked the serial number of my ipad pro using the apple coverage checker tool and it says invalid serial number, how can it be invalid and how do i fix this?

The device has never been replaced, damaged, repaired etc just me as owner only every tied to my iCloud account, I copied and pasted the serial number as well as typing so I know it’s not a typo on my part.
