In app purchasing disabled

My in app purchases have been disabled for awhile now. I’ve turned them on in the screen-time settings and i’ve reset my phone. How can I fix this?

If you go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, Is anything enabled there?


Also, under the Content & Privacy Restrictions setting, let's go back to iTunes & App Store Purchases and try changing the setting, then changing it back to allow you to make in-app purchases. When it prompts you to enter your password to change the setting, is there any indication that the password was not accepted?


If so, or disabling and re-enabling the setting to "Allow" doesn't resolve the issue, we would recommend reaching out to Apple Support directly to troubleshoot further. You can reach out to Apple Support by following the below link.

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. To make certain we understand the issue, we'd like to ask a few additional questions to help us isolate the issue further.


Is your Apple ID part of a family membership?


Is your device administered by an employer, educational institution, or are parental controls possibly enabled?


What exact error message do you get when you try to make an in-app purchase?


In the meantime, if the error that you're seeing is that your account is disabled when making the purchase, follow the instruction here: If you see a message that says 'Your account has been disabled in the App Store and iTunes' - Apple Support.
