Force touch battery drain issue

My series 4 (out of warranty) force touch has stopped working and is causing the battery to drain rapidly. 10%+ per hour sitting on a desk unused.

Have already tried all trouble shooting. Full reset, un-paired and paired multiple times to both mine and my wife’s phones, etc.

My question is has anyone with a similar issue tried the WatchOS 7 Beta and does it fix the battery drain when it disables the Force Touch?

Apple Watch Series 4, watchOS 6

I never signed up for the developer beta. I was just curious if it would fix an issue that is affecting my less than 2 year old Apple Watch.

I had seen a number of posts of people having the same issue and was wondering if anyone had tried the beta (as a developer or not since I read that can be done) on such a device.

Just looking to see if I may be able to get back up and running quickly without shelling out a few hundred.
