Why do I need a password 3 times for app approvals?

When my children under age 13, select an app to request approval, they are required to input their password twice on their device before they get the option to Ask Permission. Once I have selected Accept on my device the child is then required to enter the password once more - again, on their device for the app to install! Why do they need their password 3 time for every app request? Is there a setting that can be changed? Is this really how Family Sharing or Screentime is supposed to work? I called Apple customer service and I got no where.

Thanks for reaching out to us for help with being prompted multiple times for your password for app approvals. Since you are using a Family Sharing plan, let's check some settings related to this. If you're using an iOS device, go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases, and confirm the settings "Require Password". Make sure that is set to "Don't Require". From there if your child makes one or multiple requests, you will only get one notification. You will still need to provide your Apple ID password to approve that request. You can get more info on Ask to Buy here:

Unfortunately, I already have it set to "don't require" but it does request it anyway. I believe this has to do with under 13 accounts are required to use a password at the account level. I don't mind a single password request from my child and then one from me for approval. But, my child is requested for their password 3 times for each app every time. Not, for 3 apps, just 1 app with 3 password requests, not including my password request which would make 4. I think this is a glitch with accounts under the age of 13, because everyone i know with this problem, happens to have the problem with their child's under 13 account.
