When I'm trying to import photos from my phone they're coming in as heic .Previously they did not come into my MacBook pro like this.

when I'm trying to import photos from my phone they're coming in as heic and I cannot use them in this format.. don't know if i've changed something on my phone or laptop inadvertently and it's making me crazy!

HEIC format images should open in Preview on a Mac running 10.13 or later, and you can File menu > Export them as jpgs. On your iPhone, you can go to Settings > Camera > Formats and select Most Compatible and your phone will save and transfer JPGs instead of HEICs.
