unable to join the network (can't join my own wifi)

Hi there!

I've been struggling with connecting to my wifi with my phone since this morning. I've tried resetting my router, my phone and my network settings. I also made sure it's not on airplane mode and I've checked all my cables and connections and they all are connected to the modem. Since I can use my own WiFi on my other devices, I also tried connecting to other wifi networks of my family members houses and my phone is able to use and connect with their network just fine.

Despite all of my effort I still receive the message "password incorrect" and "unable to join this network" when trying to connect with my own WiFi.

I really hope someone is able to help me, because I don't know what to do anymore.

Howdy SoofR,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! Connecting to your Wi-Fi network is important, and we can help. You've completed some excellent steps so far too. If you haven't already, let's check the Date & Time settings to be sure they're correct, as this can cause issues connecting to networks. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time. From here, be sure that "Set Automatically" is turned on, and that the Time Zone area shows your correct, current location. If changes are made here, restart your iPhone, then try to connect to your network again.

If the issue continues, connect to a computer to place your iPhone in recovery mode. When prompted, choose "Update" as this will install a fresh copy of the software on your iPhone while keeping your data in place.
