MacBook turns on when I clean it

When I touch my 16" Macbook to clean it, it magically turns on. Any idea how to disable this absurd feature? Does apple think people are incapable or locating the power button? Even having the power button located in the keyboard is annoying and a dumb idea since it makes the keyboard hard to clean.

Another feature to add to the list with -

  • putting the headphone jack on the right in the way of your mouse/wacom 'so people can put their headphone cable around the back of the screen'.

  • disabling the traditional column view sorting ability in mail and piling it into a menu.

To turn the feature off, follow steps below:

  1. Open the Terminal, which is found in /Applications/Utilities/, and then enter the following command syntax exactly:
  2. sudo nvram AutoBoot=%00
  3. Hit return and authenticate with the admin password (necessary due to sudo)
  4. Exit Terminal when finished
