Amazon Prime Video HD requirements on a Mac

Hello ,

i am wondering why on my MacMini 2012 with Mac OS High Sierra (10.13.6)

Amazon Prime Video would stream Movies (not Serials or Documentaries) only in SD and not in HD.

Tried with different Browsers, Safari 11, Chrome (latest), Firefox (latest), no luck.

The Monitor is HDCP Compliant and the connection is trough HDMI to DVI cable.

Also on the MiniDP port no change - only SD Streaming Quality.

Is there anything i can do about it or are Macs with an attached Monitor, Projector etc.

relegated to second class Streaming when it comes to Amazon Prime Video?

Mac mini, OS X 10.11

Thank you,

i have not installed Safari 13 yet, it should function also on earlier edition or other Browsers?

It would function on your MacBookPro because it has an "internal" Display,

but it seems the Amazon HD Streaming is more "restricted" on other Macs.

So i am wondering, if someone is able to achieve Amazon Prime Video HD on a Mac with a Monitor attached, like a MacMini 2018 or so.

My Model is from 2012 but should be perfectly hardware-capable of doing so.

EDIT: my network is VDSL2, around 100to150Mbps+-
