macOS 10.14.6
Every time I open up system preferences, go to "Desktop & Screen Saver," and click on the desktop tab to change my desktop picture, the area where the photo appear suddenly goes blank. The screen saver tab works fine but once the desktop picture tab is selected and goes blank, it doesn't work and I can't change or select anything.

It sort of worked if you know the secret workaround to view it.
Delete this file...
/Library/LaunchAgents/TurboMeeting.plist
See if you have unknown Profiles.
To remove a configuration profile in macOS:
Restart
I can't delete that file, I'm not an administrator on the computer.
There are quite a few profiles there, but I don't know which one I don't want. I didn't make any of them.

It is possible you are running something in the background that is preventing it from loading.
Did it work or do I need to try again?
You'll have to contact the Admin then.
