Target Display Mode on 2019 iMac 5K ?

Is there any way to use 2019 iMac 5K as external monitor?


i want to use my Mac and switch to pc? Target Display Mode still works?

No. The 2019 iMac's do not support Target Display Mode, not even for another Mac.

I was researching this once and found someone that did it with MRD

using Thunderbolt as a network interface, but that requires a Windows

machine with Thunderbolt. With at least 10 times the speed of ethernet

it seemed viable. I know you can easily set up a Thunderbolt network

connection on the Mac but have no clue as to how you would do it in Windows.

I prefer to use MacOS and iMac. But in 3D applications like blender I miss NVIDIA OptiX support which makes a huge difference.

I plan to assemble the PC only for a blender, but I do not want to clutter the desk with another monitor and an additional keyboard, mouse. i am testing now MS Remote Desktop, but it seems to have limitations in image quality, but it allows to work with an iMac Screen, apple mouse and keyboard on external PC. I am also looking for other solutions
