Same issue here. 2017 MacBook Pro without Touch Bar, black horizontal lines appear after using for a while (2-3 hrs), then the screen will stop updating if you don't turn off the screen.

Apple should be responsible for this. They should include 2017 model in this service plan, since it is same hardware issue.

The same here in a MacBook Pro from 2016 (Touch Bar) 15''.

This problem requires a repair program from Apple. I have seen many cases.

The solution that gave me at a local Apple Store was to repair (the display or the logic board, impossible to know with the checks of the genius bar technician at the store) and the cost was about 600-700€ in both cases.

I do not understand the huge number of cases with this kind of expensive an proffessional equipment.

My MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports, with Touch Bar and Retina Display) also just started to having this issue about 3 days ago. Now it is getting worse as I used the laptop longer. I need to work on my design on laptop everyday, so this is killing me!

My MacBook Pro 2016 (Touch Bar) 13" started showing the same issue recently. The horizontal lines are darker when laptop is cold, such as first opening in the morning. The color of lines slowly become lighter after a while. Half hour later, it's almost invisible but left a 1~2cm pink tint band along the bottom of screen edge.

Same as everyone else in here, I came back from a local Apple Service Provider, and was told this is not covered by flexgate service program, the out-of-warranty fix will cost me near NZ$1500, which is half of the original purchase price.

Since my work is depended on the laptop. I probably have to bite the bullet and get it fix, which sucks. Apple should admit this as a design flaw, same as the notorious keyboard and flexgate issue.
