In photos how can I search on a keyword when category exists by same name?

In photos how can I search on a keyword, only, when category exists by same name? I am trying to eliminate albums by using keywords, but search brings up categories with same name giving me more photos than existed in my album.

Which version of MacOS X do you have installed?


In MacOS 10.14 or 10.15 you could simply add the keyword to the quick group of the keyword manager and then filter the album by this keyword.

While viewing an album, click the "Showing ..." filter and set the checkmark for the keyword you want to search for. Now you will only be seeing the photos from the album with the keyword. For example, filtering by the keyword "Bird":
