External Monitor

My Mac "sees" the new LG Monitor when I click Gather Windows but the external monitor is blank. Restarting the monitor does not help, it just times out saying no connection. I'm using a Belkin Thunderbolt 3 to USB device to connect. Any ideas?

There is a joystick/button on the bottom of the display panel that can be used to select inputs. See:

Try a USB C to HDMI Cable directly from one of the computer's Thunderbolt 3/USB-C port to the display.

Avoid cheap cables and adapters. Some, like your Belkin unit, are not rated for 60Hz.
