MacBook "Display Brightness" using significant Energy - Fan on high

I have a 2019 MacBook Pro. I was looking at some Twitter traffic and the fan came on and Macbook started to heat up (getting hot on the bottom) and I could smell the heat??

I checked the energy use and saw that Display Brightness using significant Energy.

I had little else running? Brightness was on about 7 or 8 out of 10.

I turned down the brightness and the fan backed off and heat backed off. I turned it back up and the heat came back.

It now seems to be ok. I left it low for awhile and then turned back up, it seems ok now. The "Display Brightness" is still showing as using a lot of energy?? though the fan is now normal.

What is happening. Should I reset SMC or ...?

I have had Macs since 2008. This is first time the screen brightness show up in the energy usage listing and also for it to kick in the fans on high?

I am on full brightness now and seems fine.
