My Apple Watch series 5 does not stay lit Through the night when placed on its side to charge. I thought that nightstand mode was a new feature for the series 5 that would allow for this. What am I doing wrong?

If you would like to see the time while your Apple Watch is in nightstand mode, you'll want to tap the display or lightly nudge your Apple Watch. Sometimes you can even nudge or tap the table the Apple Watch is sitting on in order for it to work. Check out the article we previously shared for more information.

It sounds like you are experiencing some issues using nightstand mode on your Apple Watch. We can help with this.
If you open the Watch app on your iPhone and then tap My Watch > General, does it show nightstand mode is currently enabled? If not, we'd recommend enabling it and then testing again.
