Two iPhone Xr using the same apple-id trouble.

In the family we have two iPhones using the same apple-id. After the last ios-update (13.6.1) a earlier problem has occured again. If one of the iPhones makes or receives a call, the phone number of the receiver/caller is shown at the other iPhone. This is very annoying and maybe illegal. The problem disappered with a earlier ios-update but is now back! Please make this problem disappear once and for all.

Best regards.

Leif

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

If you want to, you can send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.

You could set up each phone up with a separate Apple ID. That would prevent your data from being mixed together.

If under 13 years old, you will need to set up Family Sharing to create an ID.

When changing to the new ID, there may be some data loss, but you can minimize it. If syncing photos with iCloud, ensure Optimization is turned off in Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and/or in Photos/Preferences/iCloud. Then make sure full resolution photos are on the device/computer. When signing out of iCloud, if asked whether you want to retain data, choose yes. Messages conversations will be lost if they are addressed to the ID. See the article below for other places that the old ID should be removed. See Winston Churchill's response in the below discussion. Also set up Family Sharing between the IDs to keep access to your apps/purchases.

Ok, first of all you are not talking with Apple here, this is a user forum.

This is very annoying and maybe illegal.

How is it illegal? All devices using the same Apple ID share all messages, conversations, iCloud emails, contacts, calendars, phone logs etc.

You really shouldn't use the same Apple ID on 2 iPhones if both of them don't belong to the same person.

1 person = 1 Apple ID.
