Hi, I cannot find the "Ignore ownership on this volume" button under Sharing and Permissions on my USB though I have followed all the steps to find it. I really need to find it in order to move an important project from iMovie to my USB. What should I do? What can I do about this problem and what can I do to prevent this in the future? Any ideas?

The "ignore ownership on this volume" box should appear at the bottom of the Get Info box. Control-click on the volume's icon and click on Get Info and see if the box is there.
There have been some posters here that have reported that they could not find the box, as you have experienced. I don't know why that is or how to change it.

If by chance you are using, or have ever used, the drive as a Time Machine drive, that might account for the "Ignore ownership on this volume" box not appearing. Just a thought.
