AppleTv 3 will not change from Ethernet to WiFi

I have unplugged my the Ethernet cable from the back of the AppleTv, and restarted it numerous times (Both by unplugging & Settings/System/Restart) to get it to recognize the internet. When I go to Settings/Network it still shows Ethernet as the network connection. How can I get it to recognize the WiFi network?

When the ethernet port is empty, the Wi-Fi option should become available. If that doesn't happen for you, then the detector may be broken or malfunctioning.

You can try a reset. Reset or restore your Apple TV to its factory settings - Apple Support

But if it is hardware related, then that would have no solving effect. Then an Apple technician should diagnose it further. Apple TV Repair - Official Apple Support
