Why can't I get Chat support?

I have a Mac Mini running Catalina. I bought it in December last year.

I have a problem with Time Machine. I raised it on this forum but no-one had an answer. I was advised to try Chat support.

I tried that, and got this notice:

"It looks like your product is not covered for complimentary technical support."

Is that correct? When I was setting up my Mini I also had TM problems and I got a lot of Chat support. What has changed? Can anyone advise me please?

How long have you owned your Mac?

Did you purchase AppleCare?

Complimentary support does not last long, maybe 90 days depending on where you live.

I've owned it since December 2019. I didn't purchase Apple Care. If Chat support only last 3 months, then that is my answer. I thought it was separate from Apple Care. Thanks for your answer. I guess that means TM will remain a problem for me.
