No audio on LG display via USB C (Monitor - LG 25um58-p)

Same issue as https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250128994

The solution there was not effective for me.

When checking in System Preferences > Sound > Output > LG ULTRAWIDE it shows: The selected device has no output controls.

When I try to play any audio - podcast; youtube; music - I hear nothing. I have checked that the monitor audio is not muted and everything is set correctly. So my question is, does the USB-C cable connection carry audio as well as video and data? If so, why am I not able to hear anything? I should mention that in the audio setting it lists my output device as a DisplayPort type. Shouldn't that be USB-C instead?

the selected device has no output controls I am trying to stream sound to a soundbar connected to a monitor. It goes like this: Mac - Type-c-to-type-c - Monitor - analog 3.5 mm cable - soundbar. The monitor allows outputting the sound through analog cable. However, I get this when trying to select it as the output device. Am I doing something wrong?

So sorry, I feel like a stupid now, hahaha.

LG 25M58P does not actually have any built-in Speakers. It has a headphone port, but no internal speakers.
