Can not send iCloud mail after last security update on Mojave 10.14.6

When trying to send mail I get this messages in the log.

Bad password parameter

Error: already authenticated

With the same user and password:

I have no problem logging in to iCloud mail on https://www.icloud.com in Safari.

I have no problem sending iCloud mail from a macmini that is still on Sierra

Mail using High Sierra High Sierra iOS. Mail will not send to SMTP with Authentication box set to none. Last week this worked normally. Mail not sending I use Mac Mail on a Mac Mini running the latest Catalina. Recently, my two accounts won't send, but give me this error message: Cannot send message using the server [name] Verify that you have addressed this message correctly. Check your SMTP server settings in Mail preferences and verify any advanced settings with your system administrator. The server response was: SMTP-AUTH is not allowed on port 25. This problem has persisted for several days. I approached my ISP, but they pointed out it couldn't be their problem, because our second Mac can still send OK. I think the best thing is for me to re-set up the two accounts. My question is, if I trash the accounts and re-set them up, will the emails in those accounts disappear? Will they disappear from all folders? What is the best way to stop this and keep the emails? Thanks.
