Eliminate country code in the currency sign

I am seeing country specific code in the USD currency (US$). I need it to look like a "$" sign, straight.
How can that be achieved?

It is United States, and in Advanced… General : Currency is set to US Dollar. Preferred Language is U.S. English.
With Pages v10.1 on Catalina 10.15.6 (19G2021), and with the identical settings used on Mojave, I get the same result as I posted previously with the $ left aligned.

Don't forget you can always choose Create Custom Format in the Data Format dropdown and set up a Custom Format something like this:

Mine was done in Pages v10.1 on Mojave 10.14.6 (18G6020) with U.S. English configured. Cannot explain yours if same version of Pages.

no. Forgot to mention that the document is on icloud and there are several currencies at the document. Nevertheless, thank you for your help, I've created a custom currency.
