How to get accented letters from my new expensive Magickeyboard

I can’t seem to be able to get accented letters from my new Apple Magic keyboard (12.9”). A few accents do appear such as Option N + n to get the tilde over the N, but I’m unable to get a Spanish accent over the letter e, etc.

iPad Pro 12.9-inch, 3rd Gen, Wi-Fi, Cell

If you are using the US layout, you should have no problem producing accents by using the standard option key shortcuts. Accute accent is produced by typing option e, releasing the key, and then typing the base letter. Here is a list:
