Downloaded Gif file saved as just a regular photo

Since last week till date, from iOS 13.6 and 13.7 updated, the issue with downloaded gif files is ongoing. Any gif file downloaded from Chrome browser only save a phot of it and not the actual gif. This issue does not occur when the gif is downloaded from Safari. Gif in messages app works fine too. Gif files that were downloaded earlier works fine.

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 13

The problem isn’t viewing gifs in chrome...the problem is downloading a gif from chrome to your photo album on iPhone. When you download a gif from chrome and you save it to your photo album on iPhone it gets saved as a still image not an animated gif...very frustration worked for years until recently.

Hello arvind888,

We understand that you are having an issue with saving GIFs in the Chrome browser only. We'd love to help. GIFs from #images animate only in the Messages app on Apple devices. More info can be found here: Send and save GIFs on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. We're unable to say if there is a way to get the Chrome browser to animate them.

We hope this helps. Have a great day!

Teddy, not sure the issue is being understood even after multiple posts on this thread and clarifying it. Another user is also explained the issue now. It’s the downloaded gif from chrome to the photo album that has an issue. In the album it saves as a still image. Chrome Browser still is showing gif as gif. You guys need to find out why the downloaded gif is showing up as still image in the photo album on iPhone
