Maxon Cinema 4D R22

Hi,

I just purchased a new iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020). I've been using it for about a week. I noticed that there's an application, Maxon Cinema 4D R22, that is in my Applications folder. I don't see it listed as one of the built-in apps and I didn't install it. Should it be there?

Thank you for the quick reply! It is a new computer and I'm troubleshooting some issues with it. I did some more research based on your reply and I think it was installed along with Adobe After Effects.

Thanks for the suggestion. I spoke to another Apple advisor this afternoon and we did some more tests on the system. We weren't able to resolve the issue so we used Capture data to send a file to the Apple engineers. I'll receive a reply from them on Saturday. I'm grateful for any suggestions that you can offer in the meantime.

The computer has been crashing when I open a specific Adobe Premiere project. I was able to work on another project without crashing for a full day. I worked on the computer (and that specific project) for a couple of days before the crashes started. The project works fine on an older Mac. All of the video files are located on an external hard drive. It doesn't crash when I open the project without the external drive connected.

I attached the Etre Report.

Yes, it was purchased directly from Apple. I didn't use migration assistant. I started as a new user and the only apps that I installed were the Adobe apps that I use for video editing. The computer keeps having kernel panics while using Adobe Premiere. I'm working with Apple support to try and find a solution. I have an appointment to speak to rep and was trying some basic trouble-shooting while I waited.

I see where you uninstalled the Adobe Apps. How did you uninstall the Apps? Did you use the Adobe Uninstaller or did you just drag them to the trash and delete the trash?

Here is a link to the Adobe Support/Help article on uninstalling their apps,

https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

It specifically states not to use the trash. If you did, delete via the trash, and then reinstalled the apps, that is probably the source/cause of the kernel panics and crashes. I’ve seen that many times when Adobe apps are uninstalled incorrectly. You can try using the Adobe uninstallers but you will probably have to contact Adobe Support for help fixing this issue correctly.
