Mail app & Safari issues

I currently have a MacBook Pro with Mojave. I have a new MacBook Pro with Catalina coming. My one cern is if I use the navigation assistant will it migrate the issues I am having with the Mail app & Safari to the new laptop? Will Catalina fix the issue? By the way, my ISP troubleshooted it. They found it was not a problem on their end. I live where my Internet/Cable/Phone services are owned by the town. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Bill BG

I strongly recommend you not to use migration assistant or time machine to setup your new Mac.

Spend some time copying everything manually, in small parts, so you can control the process and make sure everything you need comes back and is working properly.

MA and TM might bring back bad files and settings that can, not just bring back problems of any kind, but bring back this specific problem of yours. You'll also avoid bringing back useless old system files that would only steal precious storage space.

About the issue you're having, I'm not sure Catalina has a solution. Best way to try is to set it up as a new machine as I said above, so you can test it. I wouldn't count on it, Catalina is more of the same with a few more bugs LOL. Big Sur might give you better chances.
