Tried to get Phone calls and texts to my macbook

So I was getting imessages from my iphone xr to my 2018 macbook air (pre updated version) for like 2 years. I wanted to know when people called me so I linked my facetime time to my phone. Since doing that my imessages doesnt work and when I look at the "you can be reached for messages" my phone number isn't there anymore. How do I fix that. Also Imessages stopped syncing my contacts names so I just see phone numbers (before it stopped working). How do I fix that? I bought apple for the seamless connectivity but it's starting to not seem seamless...

  1. Use the same Apple ID on both the devices.
  2. Follow the process here --> How to forward SMS/MMS text messages from your iPhone to ...
  3. Turn your phone number on or off for your Mac
    1. After you set up your phone number, you can turn it on or off for Messages and FaceTime on your Mac.
    2. Open Messages or FaceTime. If asked, sign in with the Apple ID that you're using with Messages and FaceTime on your iPhone.
    3. For Messages, choose Messages > Preferences, then click Accounts and select your iMessage account. For FaceTime, choose FaceTime > Preferences, then click Settings.
    4. Turn your phone number on or off:
      1. To turn on your phone number, select it and your Apple ID in the list. If you don't see your phone number, get help with your settings or contact Apple Support. If you see a number that isn't yours, change your Apple ID password.
      2. To turn off your phone number, deselect it in the list.
    5. If you want recipients to see your phone number and not your Apple ID, select your phone number from the “Start new conversations from” or ”Start new calls from” pop-up menu.

Respectfully, how could I be using different Apple ID's on my devices if I'm getting calls from my Iphone but not texts like I was before? You clearly didn't read my question and are some bot. Maybe if Apple would open up their only store in my state I could get competent help instead of some bot jackass like you because everything you said was irrelevent and yet I tried to do it and saw no change from my original question
