Siri keeps calling deleted number

This question has been asked by others and has gotten no reply so asking again. Siri keeps calling a number I deleted from a contact. I cannot find this number anywhere, in any contact info. I’ve done a search and the number doesn’t come up, so why, how, and from where is Siri getting this old number??? Very annoying! I need Siri to FORGET this number. Can someone please help?

iOS uses machine learning, which is a learning feature from your usual functions, data and folders used. If you change the way you use the data it automatically will get itself changed over a time period

Settings > Mail > Siri & Suggestions [enabled?] Siri may learn from and make suggestions based on how you use an app.

However you may....

  • To turn off Siri Suggestions, go to Settings  > Siri & Search, then turn off any of the following:
  1. Suggestions in Search
  2. Suggestions in Lookup
  3. Suggestions on Lock Screen

For a specific app, tap the app, then turn off Show Siri Suggestions.

Your personal information—which is encrypted and remains private—stays up to date across all your devices where you’re signed in with the same Apple ID. As Siri learns about you on one device, your experience with Siri is improved on your other devices.

  • Siri is designed to protect your information, and you can choose what you share. To learn more, go to Settings  > Siri & Search > About Search Suggestions & Privacy.

Thank for the reply. I will try this and will check my other devices to see if this number is hidden somewhere. The weird thing is that Siri started using this old disconnected number quite suddenly, when before when I said “call my sister” it called the correct number which is current in my contacts. If I can’t stop this from happening myself, hopefully Siri eventually stops doing this annoying thing.
