For the previous two months, I have been happy that Apple allowed export of QFX files to open and update Quicken. For August, however, Quicken will not open either my wife's or my files. Is anyone else seeing the same problem?

Apple is not here. We are just users like yourself. I have seen other reports of this and it seems Quicken has changed something that has borked importing QFX files from the Apple Card. You might try searching Quicken’s Community forums to see if there are any solutions.
Yes, I have the same problem. July and August do not work. Prior to that I was able to import Web Connect QFX files. Now I get this error: Quicken is unable to complete your request. [OL-221-A]

Quicken had an update and Goldman Sachs/Apple has not caught up. The only thing you can do is make sure you are using the latest iOS update available (13.7)
August Quicken QFX files cannot be opened.
