Excel for Mac Version 16.16.27. I tried to open a file from my I-Mac, but have been unable. Interesting though, when I sent the file to my I-phone, I was able to open it from my phone with no problem, so I know the data is still there. So, it appears to be related to the download of MacOS Big Sur onto my I-Mac.
Held down for a considerable time. The sign-in appeared, but no option to start in safe mode. I was able to open the file on another computer that did not have Big Sur and it worked fine! I believe that the problem is with Big Sur.
What app are you using to open the file and which version? For example, if you are using Excel, state the version number of Excel.
Unable to open in 'safe mode'. Held power button down for much more than 10 seconds on restart, but did not see any "start-up options" from which to select from.
Restarting in Safe Mode can take up to 5 minutes, please continue holding down the Shift Key!
Just cut to the chase, download LibreOffice v7.1. Open that .xlsx document and then resave it. Then open that file in Word.
I want a spreadsheet for math calculations. Why would I want to open the file in Word? Anyhow, when I used a different computer that did not have Big Sur loaded, the file opened fine!
Yeah, misstated that, and the LibreOffice Calc application would handle the XLSX document in a similar manner.
