FaceTime on Mac- will not notify me of a call coming in.

I cannot seem to receive calls on my mac. When someone calls me via FT, my phone, iPad, and watch all ring, but my laptop does not. The laptop will immediately show I missed said call, but it never rings in the first place. Do not disturb is not turned on. My phone number and relevant FT email addresses are checked off under the settings. I just don't know why I do not get a notification that someone is calling on my MacBook. I can immediately call them back on my laptop, so I know FT works (in addition to the call shopping up as missed.) Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks.

Hello TitusN,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you're not seeing notifications for incoming FaceTime calls on your Mac. You're in the right place to find a resolution.

Let's start by confirming that you have notifications enabled for FaceTime under System Preferences. Specifically, ensure that "Allow Notifications from FaceTime" is enabled, a FaceTime alert style is selected, and "Play sound for notifications" is selected:

Use notifications on your Mac - Apple Support

After that, check the ringtone you have set for FaceTime. You may also want to consider changing the FaceTime ringtone to another tone, then test again if you hear incoming calls:

Change preferences in FaceTime on Mac - Apple Support

Keep us posted on the results.

Cheers!
