Could a logic board problem cause charging problems?

Hi - my battery on my Macbook pro ( 15 inch, mid 2014, Retina )was running down very quickly and chargers I kept buying ( all official chargers) stopped working. I replaced the battery but the battery is still

draining quickly with the new battery, and I’m getting the message

‘service battery’, and also another charger has died. So I don't think

this is an issue with the battery itself as I replaced it. Could it be

anything else? Logic board? Trying to get an appointment at the mac

store to take a look at it but thought I would ask here to see if anyone

can help. Could be a stupid question, but there we go. Thanks very

much

Yes a Logic Board can cause charging issues.

Did you have Apple or an AASP replace the battery previously? If you performed the battery replacement, then Apple may not repair this laptop. If you installed a third party battery, then the battery may be defective even though it has been replaced a couple of times. The quality of third party Lithium-ion batteries is extremely poor even when purchased from a reputable vendor such as OWC. I personally will only consider a third party battery when an official Apple battery replacement is no longer possible.

There are essentially three items that can cause power system demise;

each, or any/all of other two: Battery, AC Adapter, (&/or) DC-in Board.

The item on the logic board that may be affecting this is DC-in Board.

And that's a separately replaceable component. (see fixit site for ideas.)

However given time: a battery, power adapter; even if already replaced,

may again need replaced. Whatever indications, require troubleshooting.

Parts replacement in timely manner will effect a repair of charge system.
