How to use late 2014 Retina iMac 5K as a secondary display for Windows PC

I am hoping to use my late 2014 Retina iMac 5K as a monitor for my work computer (a Windows 10 PC). I know that (for whatever reason), Apple removed the ability to do Target Display Mode from this particular model.

I'm open to any and all workarounds. I would massively prefer to not have to buy another monitor... plus I only have room for one screen on my desk, so this one would have to go back in its box :/

If it were to work at all the PC would need a Thunderbolt port, & the iMac running 10.13.6 or less...

Target display mode requires macOS High Sierra or earlier on the iMac used as the external display. It does not work with macOS Mojave or later.

The only iMacs that supported PCs in Target Display modes were the late 2009 and 2010 27" models. Your 2014 simply will not work. Please remember iMacs are computers and are not designed to be external displays for PCs. If your PC needs an external display please buy one, the good news is they have come way down in price.

Hundreds have come before you with a similar requests, the answer has always been the same, it simply does not work.

Best of luck.
