Phone not backed up and voice recordings lost?

A very long shot but worth a try.

Back in 2014 I used a third party app (think it was called voice recorder pro) and made a number of voice memos. (I don’t believe these were automatically backed up to my phone). The phone wasn’t backed up due to space issues and then the phone got damaged so lost everything. I really needed these recordings and still do.

any suggestions of a magic way to retrieve them. I’ve contacted the app developer but not expecting them to be able to help.
